About
Copenhagen Contemporary is a dynamic international art center located in a transformed industrial space in Copenhagen. Spanning 7,000 m², CC showcases immersive installations, performance art and monumental video works by both renowned and emerging artists. With a commitment to accessibility and engagement, CC offers a vibrant cultural experience for all visitors.
Copenhagen Contemporary (CC) stands as a beacon of innovation in the heart of Copenhagen's Refshaleøen district. Housed in the expansive former B&W welding hall, the space has been thoughtfully reimagined by architect Dorthe Mandrup to accommodate large-scale installations and immersive art experiences. CC's exhibitions transcend traditional boundaries, inviting visitors to engage with art through all the senses. The center's diverse programming includes works by luminaries such as James Turrell, Yoko Ono, and Carsten Nicolai, alongside emerging talents, ensuring a rich tapestry of artistic expression. Beyond its exhibitions, CC fosters community through educational workshops, guided tours, and social initiatives like The Thursday Club, which connects diverse groups through creative collaboration. The on-site café and shop further enhance the visitor experience, offering a space to reflect and acquire unique art-related items. Copenhagen Contemporary is more than a museum; it's a vibrant cultural hub that invites all to explore, learn, and be inspired.
