Den Blå Planet/The Blue Planet/Aquarium of Denmark is such a delight to visit! This was my second time coming here as an adult without children, and I thoroughly enjoyed spending hours walking around, captivated by all the cool and beautiful fish. Compared to many other aquariums I’ve visited around the world, the tanks here are quite large and well-designed, with plenty of plants, corals, and stones that naturally occur in the habitats the fish come from. A few of the tanks did seem a bit small, but I trust that the animal keepers know what they’re doing and take excellent care of the animals. For example, I thought there were too many piranhas in their tank at first, but I learned that in the wild, there would be far more piranhas in the same amount of space. We had the chance to watch the feeding of the piranhas and also the feeding of the small stingrays, which you can touch. Both experiences were super interesting and fun! One of my favorite parts was the rainforest area. They’ve created an actual rainforest environment with lots of flora and fauna from the rainforest, making it such a fun place to explore. I loved walking around and spotting the poisonous frogs, birds, and other fascinating animals. It brought back memories of my trip to Costa Rica, as it felt very authentic. I would definitely recommend Den Blå Planet to both adults and children. It’s a fantastic experience for anyone who loves marine life or unique animal exhibits. A quick tip: remember to buy your tickets online in advance—it’s cheaper and saves you time when you arrive!

Great place to spend some time, remember to buy tickets online and be there at open time to get most of your time. At lunch time people will start to arrive. It is a super fun place to bring kids as there are a lot of things for them to try.

Fantastic aquarium. Spacious tanks and the set up of the place itself is wide and easy to navigate. Ramps and elevators available for accessibility. Standouts were the sea otters, the jungle area with bonus birds, sloths, a bat and frogs, and the tropical touch tank. Definitely a fun and enjoyable time for adults and kids.

A colorful aquarium where the animals have decent sized aquariums, and where they have a great selection of fun fish. Despite the many kids all over we had a good time as a group of adults. We saw the piranhas getting fed, we saw a huge dinosaur-like turtle, a huge fish that catches smaller fish by making a vacuum, we got to touch singrays and had kissing fish nipple our skin. A great day at the aquarium, and even the food wasn't half bad :)

Not just great variety of animals, but also possibility to touch fish and fish enjoy stunning views from the outside. And of course incredible playground for kids. Buying tickets online is cheaper than buying on the spot

This is easily one of the best aquariums I've ever visited, and I make it a point to explore aquariums wherever I travel! The layout is nearly flawless, and each exhibit is immaculately maintained. You can get up close to every species on display, making for an engaging and immersive experience. Plan to spend about 1.5 to 2 hours here. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon. It’s also conveniently located near the Metro, which makes getting there a breeze. They’re open until 9 PM on Mondays for their special "Blue Mondays," which is a nice bonus. While the place wasn’t crowded during my visit, I’d still recommend buying tickets online in advance, and then you can just scan the barcode at the entrance for quick access.

Nice place to visit with your family! I was working there a couple of years ago and didn’t visit it up until a couple of weeks ago! It was good before and now it’s even better! Beautiful oceanarium located on the beach of Amager, next to the airport! It’s very easy accessible by metro and the 5C bus. You get to see a lot of different species, both from the ocean and from rivers. Good program throughout the day and a lot of interactive activities! Nice tropical area and a great cafe, where you can seat outside and enjoy the view of landing planes. We visited the oceanarium on Sunday morning, right when it opened and it wasn’t crowded at all!

This aquarium is a wonderful place to visit with children — it’s designed to be educational and family-friendly. Guided tours are available about once an hour and offered in both Danish and English, which makes it very accessible for international visitors. The sea otters are a major highlight — adorable and loved by both kids and adults. The tropical rainforest section is also a great feature, with a rich variety of plants and animals. It feels like a small zoo, and offers a fun way to explore different ecosystems up close. The exhibits are generally well-organized, though some areas have slightly confusing layouts. One small letdown was the piranha feeding show — it was quite short and not as engaging as expected. Compared to the sea otter feeding session, it felt a bit lacking. Hopefully, other feeding events in the future can match the sea otter area in terms of presentation and depth. As for tickets, we tried to purchase them online at the discounted price, but the payment process kept failing. In the end, we had to buy tickets on-site at a higher price. Despite a few minor issues, the overall experience was enjoyable and definitely worth visiting.
