It's "Hamlet's castle" how can you go wrong? Lovely location. Beautiful shoreline. Excellent place to visit, including the old town on the way to and from the train station.

Had a great experience learning about Frederick II and his wife Sophie! And the place of Hamlet!!!Castle is well done and well kept. Would recommend spending the extra 50 crown for the tour that does the in depth history (last 45 minutes). You can also do a “secrets” tour (also 50 crown) is also really a good tour to do. I did both. You will learn so much more. Parking is in a paid lot that is about a 10 minute walk from castle and near the food truck food hall.

It is such a beautiful place, history and culture all together in a place, it has actors so your tour can be joyful, also have a coffee shop, a souvenir, and a diy space where you can play with legos and having pictures. I loved it!

Kronborg is located near the city of Helsingør on the Danish-Swedish border. It was included on 30 November 2000 in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The castle has great symbolic importance for the Danes and played a key role in the history of northern Europe from the 16th to the 18th centuries. It remains an unaltered castle to this day, best known for Shakespeare's tragedy.

Beautiful place inside and outside with stunning views of the surrounding area. Easily spent 2-3 hours inside the grounds and the castle. Prepare yourself for a lot of stairs if you decide to climb one of the towers! Lots of history on display everywhere you turn. Has a nice little Café inside if you want to sit and have a bite to eat. Lovely little gift shop too. Plenty to see and a nice little day out.

We visited Kronborg Castle on a day trip from Copenhagen where we could visit two countries in one day and I would say it is worth it. Outside the castle ramparts the maritime museum. The old barracks are the home to 200 years of Shakespeare theater tradition as Hamletscenen and stages performance all year round. The castle is rich in history being of the seventeenth century, with some replicas of artifacts. However, the fame of the castle links it to Shakespeare's Hamlet and the fact that it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Do not forget to take a walk along the castle ramparts, from where you can admire the small stretch of sea that separates Denmark from Sweden. This was one of the must see locations of Kronborg We visited the place in the afternoon and it was not very crowded on a week day. The Culture Yard On the way to the castle customers can walk through the Culture Yard We can choose whether to visit the inside of the castle or only walk around it (free option), or again visit the old town From here we boarded a ferry with the group and journey across in Sweden, and drive down to Malmö,

Kronborg Castle in Helsingør is an absolute must-visit! The castle is breathtaking, with its impressive architecture and location right by the water. Walking through its grand halls, dark dungeons, and beautifully preserved rooms truly feels like stepping back in time. The history here is fascinating, from its connection to Shakespeare’s Hamlet to its role in Denmark’s past. The exhibitions are well-presented, and exploring the underground passages adds an extra layer of adventure. The views from the castle towards Sweden and the gorgeous town of Helsingør are also lovely.

A must-visit in Denmark! Kronborg Castle is not only stunning in its architecture but rich in history and atmosphere. Walking through the grand halls and dark underground casemates, you truly feel the weight of its past. The views over the Øresund are breathtaking, and the connection to Shakespeare’s Hamlet adds a special touch. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and the exhibits were well-curated. Easily one of the highlights of my trip to Helsingør!

Beautiful castle in Helsingbør. Cute little town with rich history in Denmark. You can buy ticket at the counter. If you have Copenhagen card or you are below 18 years of age, entry is free.

Breathtaking 600 years old castle in Helsingør, one of the seven world heritage sites of Denmark- an absolute must-visit!
