Fun and informative evening. Lots of good information about olive oil we definitaly will use during our coocking in the future.We tastet different olive oils and how how they combine with other foods. All in all a great experience.

An excellent and truly unique experience on the island of Skiathos for olive oil lovers. Set in a beautiful olive grove, you’ll have the chance to taste some of the finest oils from the region, paired with delicious local specialties. Christos, a young and highly knowledgeable host, leads the experience with passion and expertise, engaging both enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Fantastic time with Chris who explained the story of olives on the island and how his grove works. Learnt so much about using olive oil in other ways, e.g. in cake on ice cream on yogurt etc. Tasting session was informative, tasting different types of oil and trying it on orange, bread, cheese, yogurt and tomatoes.

Marathaki Olive Oil and Tastings On Sunday we went for an Olive Oil Tasting with our friend Chris. From the time we spent with him and thanks to his incredible knowledge we learnt so much about different types of oil including flavours , temperature , food pairings , etc. The tasting started with Chris giving us a detailed history of olive oil and reasons why we should be having more of it in our diet like people do in the Mediterranean. This is because as he explained there are so many health benefits. The first oil we tasted was from the supermarket. This was to for us to see the difference when we tried our first Extra Virgin Olive Oil which was an Oleosopohia and I have to say was a dramatic improvement in quality and flavours. Before trying each of the oils you warm the glass in your hand for about a minute. This is to allow all the aromas to be released better and improve the flavour of the oil. All the smells and flavours are put on a sheet along with scores on how each category Bitterness , Pungency and Fruit ratings. The second oil was the Marathaki Olive Oil by Chris. This really was the oil I enjoyed the most as it had for me the most flavour and also paired perfectly with fruit , yoghurt , etc. Our last oil was the Argilos which had very different intensity as did the two previous oils. It was great to have a discussion about each of the olive oils because between the three of us we noticed different fruits , spiciness and intensity. The oils also paired perfectly with the yoghurt especially when the salt was added. This was the same with the chocolate , orange , feta cheese , olives and tomatoes. This was an excellent Olive Oil Tasting Experience where you will learn so much and it will definitely make you think about which olive oil you buy in the future. Thank You Chris for a fantastic experience and wish you all the best in the future.

A lovely evening with Chris at the Olive grove. Chris is very knowledgeable and passionate and provided us with a new way to appreciate Olive Oil. Chris was very welcoming and professional, happy to answer any additional questions and did not rush our experience. We would highly recommend during your visit to Skiathos and would happily attend again.

I cannot recommend this olive oil tasting experience with Chris, enough. Well worth a trip to learn about olive oil, how they make it, how to look for the best products, how to properly taste olive oil and more importantly - what to eat it with! This is an experience like no other. A small intimate setting for just 4 people to ensure you can all talk easily and appreciate all that is being taught and ask as many questions as you like. Chris properly joins you and becomes part of the group as he teaches you everything you need to know to appreciate the oil. Paired with some lovely snacks, Chris leads you on a journey from tree to tummy, and makes you appreciate olive oil in a whole new way! We never thought we’d be drinking olive oil and enjoying it! Brilliant evening, 1.5/2 hours of eye opening new information and appreciation. We cannot wait to try olive oil on all of our food when we go home! Out of the ones we tried, Chris’ olive oil - Marathaki - was our favourite and we’ve bought some to take home to enjoy (so make sure there is space in your suitcase!) Thank you Chris, looking forward to expanding our knowledge even further next year with you!
