A great place to learn about the history of the city. The cafe has some really good food for a good price too. So lovely to sit and relax.

Amazing museum, I can imagine Copenhagen in the past and how the people were live at that time. If you love history and culture explorers, this place is quite suitable to visit. Staffs are nice too, there is a coffee shop in the garden outside the museum which is make the museum cooler.

This museum is absolutely fascinating. The museum begins with explaining the old history of the beginnings of Copenhagen, the old wars and pandemics, and then explores more recent topics such as the introduction of welfare state and the way that Copenhagen has become a wealthy city. On a rainy day, this was the perfect thing for us to do and I’d recommend it to anyone.

We really enjoyed the Museum of Copenhagen. It was a lot smaller than the National Museum ( took us about an hour and a half to go round- ideal for us) and gave a very good impression of the development of the city through different stages in its history. At the end was a relief map of the city which showed the boundaries of the city in varying eras. The entrance to the museum was included with our Copenhagen card and downstairs is a locker room ( free) and toilets. We also liked the fact that when we visited in November it was still open into the evening unlike most museums.

Wonderful museum to visit to learn about the history and development of Copenhagen. A great alternative to the National Museum located across the street if you're in the mood for a quieter, less crowded but enriching experience, take a stroll over this way!

Took about 2 hours with me rushing towards the end as it was closing soon. Very interesting museum that is a definite must-see if you want to learn the city's history. Incredibly detailed history from the beginning right to the modern day. Covers three floors but the third floor doesn't have too much on it

I cannot recommend enough the Delicious Danish Caramels at the museum shop -I am OBSESSED with them and finished the box way too fast. Send help. I might be diabetic now, but it was a sacrifice worth making. Onto more serious (albeit less delicious) information, it was a very interesting and complete presentation about the fascinating history of the city, with many opportunities to touch and play with props and screens meant for visitors. I particularly appreciated the importance given to the history of childhood -which is understandable considering the historical function of the building, but it was still a very important reminder of the importance of good childcare for society. I also enjoyed very much the Queer History Highlights, which I wish were more common in museums. The workers were also very nice and spoke English perfectly well, which was very comforting considering I was just staying one night for work and didn't have time to learn some Danish, even basic sentences. In short, a very beautiful visit with interactive scenography, very pleasant workers, and INCREDIBLE caramels. Pls send more. I don't care about my blood test results anymore, I just want more of those caramels.

I don’t think that I would’ve visited it had it not been for the free entrance - nevertheless, I’m glad I did. The curators did their best to present the history of the city in a contemporary and moving way. The building is small but elegant, just like the exhibition - an hour would suffice to walk around and read the information.

We visited here last thing on a Saturday afternoon, lots to see over many eras and some fabtastic world exhibits. I wish we had more time to look around and see everything. This is a fantastic museum.

Really cool and comprehensive interactive exhibitions. The information was accessible and presented in an engaging form. On Wednesday it’s free, would really recommend going!
