Perhaps Copenhagen’s most iconic landmark, The Little Mermaid statue sits gracefully on a rock by the Langelinie promenade, gazing wistfully toward the harbor. Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s famous fairy tale, the bronze sculpture was created in 1913 by Edvard Eriksen.
